“I arrived in Houston with no money but a dream. I knew Houston was my city,” “I love it here.”
Originally from The Gambia, a country in West Africa.
“After completion of high school I knew my goal was to move to the
U.S. as soon as I could.” He left his home country when he was 22
with $250 as a gift from his neighbors and a loan to buy an airline
ticket from his uncle which he eventually paid back in full.
“I arrived in New York City and I spent $200 on a
Greyhound bus ticket to Houston. Forty dollars went to food and
I bought a $10 prepaid phone card so I could call my mom and let her know I arrived.”
I dropped out of college to support my family and has done all
kinds of work through the years. But i found my niche in the
moving industry, which suited his background and experience. I
used $4,500 from a retirement fund from his former job to buy
MY first truck(Betsy) for his company Eurmove, Moving and Storage.
My business grew throughout the years and now we have a fleet of
nine box trucks and one 18 wheeler(Tractor Trailer). In the process, I built an
incredible team of hard-working professionals
